Blogging for real

This past few days, I have been thinking of actually having a serious blog, not just this random rantings kind of blog. So I asked a friend who also blogs, which hosts she uses with her blog, and how she comes up with her inspiration for her posts. She usually posts about stuff that she cooks because she likes cooking. I've also read other blogs about travel, family life, food, personal finance, investing and more. So with the little research that I had these are the stuff that I discovered. Number one is to write about something that interest you so that you have a lot of material for your posts. Number two is you've got to know who your target audience is so you'll write topics interesting or of help to them. Number three is your blog must be sensible, not just rants about random stuff that no one can understand and the layout must be easy on the eye. Number four is that you have to learn to navigate your website to maximize your online presence. And number five is to learn how to communicate and elicit response from your audience. So I've been thinking of what topic to write about if I have my "real" blog. I could still write about our personal updates like what I do for this one but I don't know if people would be interested in that. Like we're not really superstar material. Or I could write about personal finance, but I am just still learning about that. Or I could write about the places we've been to or the food that we have, like food bloggers and blog reviewers and stuff like that. Hmmm... there many choices, how can I choose? And then there's still the question of what my blog's name would be, if I would do it in blogger or wordpress, or if I actually have the time to maintain it. Hehe. Maybe in a months time, I'll try to set that blog up. For now, I'll continue researching and planning what the outcome I want to have for this new endeavour. Happy writing!
