Descendants of the Sun
This is the new series that we like watching nowadays. It is a korean drama about soldiers and doctors. Before, I am not really a korean drama type of person though I'd watch korean movies if they were really popular or if someone suggested it to me because they think it's really good. For this, it was the latter since my friends Jany and Reg started to talk about it in our Viber group. I resisted the urge to watch it at first but after the 8th episode, I gave in. They'd talk and gush about how good it was which really piqued my curiosity. When I decided to watch it, I had to be careful because if Kenny doesn't like it then it will be the end of that. We usually watch TV together so it's kind of a plus if we both like the show. From the first fight scene in episode 1, I can see that Kenny has become interested in it too, so we watched it continuously through the course of a week to be able to catch up. By that time, they have already released episode 9. I didn't have to agonize through the wait since we can watch it one after the other. But when we finished all the aired episodes, then I have to endure waiting for the next episode. From what I researched, the show airs in Korea on Wednesday and Thursday but since we have to wait for the subtitling, I have to add another day to that.
The storyline is about Captain Yoo Si-jin ang Doctor Kang Mo-yeon who met in Korea but were sent to a fictional place Urk (scenes were shot in Greece). They end up in a lot of adventures and mis adventures together while they were there. There is a also another "side" couple to this story, First Lieutenant Yoon Myung-ju and Sergeant Major Seo Dae-young who has an interesting love story because the father of Myung-ju doesn't approve of it at first. I really enjoy the stories of both couples because they tend to have drama, comedy, kilig, and action. Though sometimes I feel I like the story of Myung-ju and Seo Dae-young better.
As of the moment they have released episode 14. So only two episodes to go and it's all over! Sad. But good thing, the content is already in the internet so we can watch reruns whenever we want. Hopefully, they won't delete the videos!
