Kenny's Birthday 2015
We celebrated kenny's bday in Camden airport last weekend. I booked him to have a learn to fly experience in a 2 seater plane which made him a pilot for the day. He really dreams of being a pilot so I thought what a nice experience to have that dream come true even for just a day. We made it to the airport almost 2 hours earlier than our scheduled booking so we had a lot of time to watch the other people have their turn for this experience. The weather was pretty nice too, not too sunny, but just a good mix of clouds and sunshine. At first kenny had some doubts if he was going to push through with it. I myself had to contain my nervousness but I already prayed about it, so I left it to God. I know that He will take care of Him up there. Like what the bible says in Psalm 139:8 "If I go to the heavens, you are there...". So after much thought and consideration, he has finally decided to go through with it.
When it was his turn, the instructor came up to us and introduced himself. He then led us to the plane that Kenny would be flying and gave him a very brief course on how the plane works and about the controls inside the plane. I was the designated photographer so I took the pictures while Kenny was very busy absorbing everything he said!
Then the instructor signaled for me to return to the waiting area as they would be taxying on the runway. I tried to have a video of the take off but it was too far so I didn't have it. Anyway, Kenny said that once the plane was already airborne, the instructor gave him the controls and he got to try "steering" the plane to wherever he wanted. He said that he got to see blue mountains and Warragamba dam, penrith lakes and even the Sydney skyline. After 30 mins or so, I saw them landing again and was very relieved that he was back! So I went to where they parked the plane and met him. He looked a little shocked or shaken and didn't talk much that time. But on the drive home, that's when he started to talk and he was very excited telling me everything he did and saw and felt. Indeed, I was very happy to see him that happy. Cheers to a very happy birthday!
