Post Holiday Thoughts part 2
Going home after service, the "adults" started to prepare for our noche buena, while me and the kids were still busy gift wrapping some of the gifts. I also intended to have a sort of Christmas program so it will be more enjoyable. I enlisted the kids to prepare a presentation and also some games, but when the real program started, they were all shy to do it. Anyway, we still proceeded with the games, ate noche buena and then comes the gift opening part. I think that was the most awaited part of the whole Christmas celebration.
When the 25th came, we went to P4 to also celebrate with Kenny's family. We were not able to sleep there because we had to bring my parents to the airport that night. On the 27th, Kenny went to Ilocos with Daddy Alex to visit his grandparents. Meanwhile, me and the twins went to ACE water spa with Mama Loi, Nika and the rest of the family. We had a really good time there as the twins can't stop to talk about it. On New Year's Eve we were back in P4. I had readied myself to the smoky and noisy kind of new year's celebration that is remarkably Pinoy. We spent some time looking at the fireworks from the neighbors and then ate media noche. I think we slept at around 2 am.
Before the start of classes for the kids, we also went to QC Memorial Circle. The kids had a blast with biking around the park and also going to try the rides in Circle of Fun. It was their last hurrah for the holidays!
We then planned on going to Elbi to visit our old alma mater. It was a nostalgic experience to say the least. We ate in VatCave. The food still tasted the same and the lady chopping the lechon kawali is still there! We walked a little bit on campus, which was ok since classes hadn't started yet. We didn't know that the semester's beginning was already moved that was why this January was still semestral break for the students. We went to BioSci, PhySci, CEAT and EE Bldg. We also went to IRRI and I met my former co workers there. I missed them all! It was especially fun when I saw some of my pictures still tucked on the wall by my former desk!
Our holidays are almost drawing to a close. But before that happens, the twins reminded me of my promise to them. I have to buy them Potato fries and Zagu. So off we went to Sm Hypermart to fulfill that promise.
The rest of the week was spent just in the house may it be in LP or P4 bonding with family. When the 9th of January came, it was time for our flight. Kenny's parents took us to the airport with Mama Inday and the twins.
So there you have it! Now we are back here in Sydney, looking forward to the year ahead and for the next holiday! hehe!
