Post Holiday Thoughts part 1

Today is a holiday for Australia because it's Australia Day! Good time to finish house chores and have some time to rest. Yesterday, Sunday, we went to church and to swim in Ryde Acquatic Centre. That was my first time to go but Kenny knew the place because it is also where their friendly basketball games are held. It was fun and I think that won't be the last time that we are going back there. Today, Monday, we slept in and had brunch and just relax. Then I figured, I'll just start my long delayed Christmas vacation blog post. So, we went to vacation in the Philippines last December and stayed there for three and a half weeks. We were there to attend a wedding, celebrate Christmas and new year with family, have our well deserved food trip (hehe!) and did meet ups with some friends. So I'll probably start of with our flight to Manila. We traveled on a Thursday, but since it was already close to the holidays, the airport was pretty busy that time, especially the Philippine Airlines counter. Long queues of excited Pinoys are seen patiently waiting for their turn to check in and make lively conversations with other passengers about their holiday plans, or how long has it been since they were "home". It was also good that we left our house early because the flight was 45 minutes earlier than expected. Anyway, as we boarded our flight, we settled in comfortably as were in a 2-seater window seat. The food served was good albeit not excellent. I didn't bother with the inflight entertainment because we didn't have individual screens, the plane just had screens at the middle of the cabin. So I just started to read my book, The Intelligent Investor, but after some time, I started to doze off. So much for finishing the book. After 8+ hours, the plane has landed on terminal 2 of the NAIA. Some passengers clapped their hands as we taxied into the runway, maybe for the excellence of the pilot or just plainly for the joy to be back "home". Mama Loi and Daddy Alex were already waiting for us when we went out of the airport. They brought us to our house in LP cause that's where we were staying. It was a good reunion of sorts because my parents were also there, having come home from overseas too. The next day, I spent it entirely in the beauty salon as I was having my hair done. On Saturday, we went to P4 to meet Kenny's relatives and have some kind of lunch to dinner party. On the first Sunday that we were there, it was Jai and Pinky's wedding.
It was good time spent with our college friends, the sort of good time that ends at 4 am the next day. hehe! We felt like teenagers again. The next day, since we were really sleep deprived, we just overslept and went to SM to do some early shopping for clothes and then go back to LP. On Tuesday, we went to Bulacan to meet with my brother's wife and her family. They lived inside a village there and we had a good time biking around their village. After breakfast, we went to Coolwaves Resort. I think everybody enjoyed it. They had the wavepool too as their name implies.
After spending the entire afternoon there, we went back to their house to have dinner. Then we headed out to go back to LP. The next day was the Christmas eve already. Kenny, me, mama and the twins went to SM to have some late Christmas shopping and had merienda in Shakeys. Then we went to ANLCC for the Christmas eve service. To be continued..
