Studying again
Around last week, I received the letter from the New York State Education Department (NYSED) that I was eligible to take the exam for engineers here in this country. For sometime, I felt a little low. I didn't think that I would actually receive the letter since K's letter came 2 weeks earlier. Anyway, as the thought of taking the exam is sinking in, I started to look at the coverage of the exam. I have to admit that I really have to start from scratch since it's been around 5 years since I graduated. I can recognize the topics but I can barely remember on how to do the solutions to the math problems. Now that's just the tip of the iceberg. There's still statistics, chemistry, engineering etc., not counting the coverage for the afternoon exam. By the way I'm thinking of taking the Environmental Engineering exam. Not just because it has the smallest number of topics of all the engineering options, but also it's the closest one to my undergraduate course. As of now, I just planned my review schedule. Sometimes, I can't bring myself to actually start studying. But I also can't think of anything else better to do especially in my situation. So I'll stop writing now and dust off my reviewers. And for a some encouragement, I bought a good sized notebook to write my solutions in.
