Visiting Sea Life Sydney Aquarium with a toddler

Last Easter break, we went to the city to visit the Sea Life Sydney Aquarium. I got excited as this was the first time Caleb would be able to see fish and sharks and turtles that are not on TV or on the Ipad. We started our day pretty late since we had breakfast first and by the time we were already to leave, it was almost midday. Since it was the Easter Break, Kenny arranged for us to have a travel pass so we don't have to pay for our train pass. Taking the train to the city is in itself an adventure with a toddler in tow. We changed trains at Dulwich Hill (poop alert!) and just took the light rail to Darling Harbour. It was quite a walk going to the aquarium from the light rail stop (I believe we hopped off at the Convention Center). It was a very sunny day but had a very nice autumn temperature. Anyway, by the time we got there we were already hungry so we decided to have lunch first at the cafe. After lunch, we then went outside to discover that there was a loooong line to get the tickets. We purchased online tickets but we still had to go to the counter so they can print off our "real" tickets. After that, there was another loooong line to enter the aquarium itself. By this time it was already 3 pm and Caleb was starting to get a little cranky because he was 3 hours past his naptime. At last we got inside the Sea Life Sydney Aquarium!

Kenny was carrying Caleb for the duration of the aquarium tour. He did see the sharks and the sting rays but I wasn't sure if he appreciated it that much because he was really sleepy. After the jellyfish tanks, we decided to put him on the baby carrier so he can sleep. Good thing we managed to get a few snapshots to remember this trip. We'll probably go back anyway when he's a little but older.

The last stop was the cafe where we had lunch. We just went outside and rocked him to sleep while he was in the carrier. He fell asleep in no time! We then headed towards Town Hall station for out train ride home. Caleb just woke up when we got on the train and I just fed him his snacks. I think we got home around 7 pm that night. It was very tiring but still fun. I'm looking forward to more mini "escapades" for the years to come.
