Wollonggong trip

Yesterday Ken and I went to Wollonggong for a road trip. It wasn't a long drive really but we stopped in three different places on the way. It was a good day trip matched with good weather and good company. We started off mid day at around 11 am. We prepared packed lunch as we planned on having a little picnic wherever we feel hungry and there is a good place to sit. The first place we stopped by was the sea cliff bridge. We didn't really stop on the bridge but we parked on a side street near it. First we went down near the water by the rock pool there. We took some pictures and enjoyed the scenery.
Then we went for a walk on the bridge itself. It was a long walk so we only finished maybe around 5 percent of the whole span and we started to walk back to the car. But not having some pictures first.
Then it was time to continue on our journey to Flagstaff Hill. There we saw people on the beach and also a lighthouse and picnic grounds. And since it was way past 12 o'clock, we decided to have our lunch here, and besides we were already starving. They had huts divided into four so it could accommodate more people. We set our stuff on one side and had our lunch. And since this place was near the water, sea gulls watch you as you eat, ready to dive in in case you drop your food or something. We had time to catch up with office news that we haven't had the chance to talk about. The view was nice too. Not so far away there was a couple having some sort of pictorial on the grass. There were families also on a day out, enjoying the beach, the sun and sand. After eating, we went on to explore the place a little bit. We walked to the lighthouse, took some pictures, read the historical bits that were inscribed there and sat down on one of the benches. As we look outward to the ocean, we laughed and talked about silly things like janitor fish sucking the life out of a whale and how I was so bothered about what's happening in this tv series I'm watching. It was just fun and lighthearted conversation. I come to really appreciate how my husband wants to make me laugh until I cry. And I remember all the hundreds or thousands of silly conversations we had throughout the years, in different settings, situations and whatnot.
After our lunch stop, we headed toward Kiama to see the blowhole. It was touristy place that's why there were lots of people there. But as the wind was not that strong that day, we didn't see it really become a blowhole. It was sort of a squirt hole so to speak. But since we were already there, we just explored the rocks and came close to the cliff. I was afraid of actually having to go near it but Ken said he's there anyway so why be afraid.
The view is amazing and the waters are actually already a part of the pacific ocean. The wind was refreshing too though it wasn't strong enough for the blowhole experience. After an hour or so exploring the place, we headed back to the car. We then started our trip back home . The drive home was shorter than when we were going there maybe because the gps lead us into a new route. Kenny did well with the driving but his knees felt sore after some time. Good thing, the drive home took us less than two hours. It was a nice day trip for the last Saturday of summer. The next seasons now hold new exciting journeys for us.
